Memorial Day Weekend 2013

I hope all of you lovely ladies had a fabulous weekend, in the sun with the ones you love the most. I wish I could say that is how we spent our weekend. It was a very eventful weekend but just in a completely different way we had planned.

Friday night Luke suddenly said "Mom, I'm not feeling very good" so I said "Luke, what do you feel like?" Luke replied "I feel like I could throw up".

And so it began... the stomach flu of 2013 for Luke. So far no one else had got the horrible illness so we spent Saturday & Sunday in the house and we got out a few times for certain things. I tried to lay out when I could but poor Luke needed his Mommy at all times! :)

Saturday evening I just got out of the shower and suddenly heard Westin fall into the corner of the wall. It hit him just right and his poor forehead was split right open. They wanted to do stitches in the ER but I told them I'd rather do the glue strips before the stitches... I just could not bare to have my baby boy in stitches!! He was SUCH a big boy and let them clean it out and do what needed to be done without even crying, he was just VERY curious.

After the ER visit Westin and I headed back to the house to help heal Luke. Sunday we chilled at home because poor Luke was still recovering from being sick. I pick these beautiful flowers from my garden, are they not just gorgeous? I'm so proud of my rose bushes this year!!

Yesterday we all felt like getting out of the house so we headed to Herb Parson lake which isn't too far from our house. We love it there and the boys rode their bikes while I tried to get some sun and chase Westin around.

Daddy threw the football to Will and Luke and I sat in the sun.

This little dude was all over the place. With his boo-boo and all he was one determined boy!

I hope you all had a blessed weekend. My house is spotless so that makes me happy and all of my kids are healthy! Have an awesome week!

Memphis in May 2013

Each year Memphis has a month long "Memphis in May" celebration. There are all sorts of fun activities to attend like a music festival, BBQ festival and this weekend is the sunset symphony playing on the river at sunset. In high school we attended the music festival, at this time in my life you could not pay me money to go to the music festival. I know it is a fabulous time by all but it is not for me anymore. The BBQ fest is more of our style and as we would like to go to the BBQ fest on a Thursday or Friday night we have no sitters to keep our monkey's so Saturday was more of a family friendly day. So off we went, packing up our crazy kids and attending the BBQ fest with them.

I'm honestly SO glad we took them, Will and Luke had a ball at the river. The Mississippi River is huge and to them it was amazing seeing it in person, ha! (my poor boys need to get our more) It was super hot but we all survived and I'm so glad we made these memories with them. They took a football and the tent we attended was river front so they just threw the ball back and forth the whole time.

Luke is my child that will try and eat anything. He is a huge BBQ fan so he was in heaven. He munched out on some ribs and below you can see the BBQ sauce all over his cheeks. :)

Here I am with my sweet Will. He is my complainer about being hot so he was not happy the whole time but he did survive. :)

I thought this was a really cool picture I got of the boys with J and the bridge behind them. Love these boys so much!

This little stinker was such a champ and walked all over the place the whole time, after he had enough of his stroller. He is so hilarious!!!

The Sunset Symphony would be so much fun to attend but we don't feel like heading downtown again. If you are local though check it out. It is going to be a beautiful weekend to enjoy it.

I hope you all are having a fabulous May! I can't believe May is almost over!

We are having a ball making fun memories with these crazy boys!

Have a blessed Friday!!

My boys

* This post was written last week and I never published it. After yesterday's tragedy in Oklahoma I feel it is so important to talk about my sweet boys! The boys who all have a special piece of my heart. May God Bless those sweet families in Oklahoma!*

Everyone who knows me knows that my uterus still urns for a baby girl to bless us one day. Last year during my c-section we made that final decision that we were done bringing beautiful babies into this world, so my tubes were tied. I secretly still pray to God that there was a mistake and we get just 1 more surprise!!! :)

I can't help it, I just love my babies but now that I have a 9 year old, they can sure be buggers once they get this age. They have their own opinions (which we try to embrace but geez), they back talk, they complain about things going on if they don't like it AND they cost lots of money! I still love my boys the same even when they get to acting like they are so cool BUT they were so much more pleasant when they were babies and this Momma made all of their decisions for them! Babies aren't babies forever and that is what makes me sad, even though I do really enjoy Will being 9 years old and knowing so much more than his brothers. Will and I can have a logical conversation and I love that about my smart little boy!!!

I say all of this to say that I would not change one thing about having all boys. Boys are so much fun, they are "most of the time" laid back and don't cause too much of a fuss. Boys are all that I know so I know having a little girl is equally awesome but my boys keep me on my toes for these many reasons.

  • they will jump in every water puddle they find
  • they will play in the dirt and play with worms
  • they will giggle at just the thought or sound of someone tooting
  • the loudest burp is the best (we are trying to work on our manners)
  • they will ride their bikes with both feet OFF of the peddles (we do try to stop it, I promise)
  • when they call me on the phone they have this soft, angel like voice
  • they would rather sit in my small chair with me at night while we watch TV, rather than sit next to Daddy on the big sofa.
  • they tell me I'm pretty at least once each day
  • they LURVE it when Mommy plays HORSE with them on our basketball goal but they just expect it from Daddy
  • they still love going to Collierville to watch trains, I hope this never ends!
  • they smell like wet puppy dogs when they come inside from sweating
  •  they always have a tune or music in their head and are humming
  • they always only have 3 pair of shoes that fit at one time (tennis shoes, flip flops & church shoes)
  • they usually don't care what they wear and will still wear whatever I pick out
  • they (mostly Luke) will make anything in my living room an obstacle course
  • the sofa pillows come off the sofa often
  • they don't pay much attention to detail, must be a man thing
  • they always enjoy sitting in the garage watching a storm roll through
  • they LOVE to ride in Daddy's truck

There is SO much more that I love about my sweet boys but that will all be saved for another time. Having all boys is very special. They are the light of my life and yes having a baby girl would be great but raising these three boys to be good men, genuine, followers of Christ and all that falls along the way will keep us busy. I don't know anything else but having all boys so yes there are times I want one more child to try for a girl, I also know that there is nothing anyone could do to take these three special men away from me.

Thank you Lord Jesus for trusting J and I with these little souls. Everyday I pray they urn for a deeper, stronger relationship with You! Thank you for blessing my life abundantely and thank you for the gift of being a mother.
I pray you all are having a blessed Tuesday! God Bless America!!!

Mother's Day 2013

I had a wonderful Mother's day weekend!
We didn't do too much but spent a lot of time together which is our favorite weekends of all!

Saturday I got a mani / pedi / massage. It was fabulous and for those 3 hours I felt very pampered and loved. J really did a great job this Mother's Day. We usually don't do much but it is always nice when your hubs decides to do things on his own and surprises you with some pampering. The rest of the day was spent doing some grocery shopping and then meeting some friends for dinner. Saturday was a fabulous day!!

Sunday we went to church then came home to take a few pictures and eat lunch. J grilled out so that was nice! His parents came by so it was wonderful seeing them as well!

Sunday before dinner we decided to take a country drive. We loaded up and we driving down our favorite streets out in the county. This is where we are planning to move soon so it was nice seeing families out and dreaming about us doing the same thing with our kids and our future grandkids. Our next home will most definitely be our final home so that excites us even more!

Will and Luke were so funny that morning. They both made me a card (which is the best gift ever) and we all really enjoyed spending time together. I sure miss them all right now and I'm already looking forward to 3pm when I go get my monkey's!

As you can see, Westin is walking everywhere. He no longer crawls and is full blown walking! He is mister independent and having 2 older brother's doesn't help. He thinks he is as big as they are and we think it's hilarious! He is one funny boy!!

While we were outside watching big brother's play, I had to steal this picture with him. Little love is so funny and thinks he's so big.

I sure missed my Mom and her family on Mother's Day. I wish we all lived closer so we could be together for holidays like Mother's Day. Hopefully one day we will! In the meantime I will continue to enjoy spending more time with my boys, as they are all growing up so fast!

Being a mother is the most rewarding and hardest job on the planet. It is something I use to dream about as a little girl and it is such a blessing that I am now a Mommy, living my dream. J and I have made a pretty good life for ourselves, I thank the Lord for everything. Without Him, I don't know where I would be!

I hope you all had a fabulous day! Happy Monday to all !
