Good company... Good times!

This past Saturday, my Momma and one of my dearest Mommy friends took the kiddos to the local sprinkler park... if you remember I posted a few months ago about taking the kids with my Momma by ourselves and Luke got lost, well thankfully this time was a huge success, we did not lose one kid :)

The kids picked out push ups from the ice cream lady... (aren't they the cutest?!?!)

They even got to pick out their own push ups... (precious)

Nathan, Will and Luke playing in the water :)

Y'all, this is my dearest Mommy friend, Stephanie. She is the best mother I know, I call her my big sister because she is the best friend ever and I don't know what I would do without her!! This is her and her two angels, Nathan and Allyson

Pizza, cupcakes, push ups, & sprinkler park.... life doesn't get much better than this... and for me, I had a blast watching my kiddos have so much fun! Isn't that the best part of being a kid?!?!

Chances Are....

...if the 4wheeler is running- the boys are hoping to ride with Daddy

...if the house is quiet- I would not know what to do with myself

...if you saw the boys hair- you would not believe me when I say last year this time, they were two different colors, now they have the exact hair color

...if Luke picks out his jammies- it will be his Spiderman ones

...if the TV is on- Daddy is watching sports, new or something I want to watch :)

...if we see a storm cloud- Will is most likely thinking there will be a tornado

...if you stopped by- my house would be picked up

...if we walked down the street- we would visit with our dear friends and neighbors

...if Mom is cooking- it's going to be yummy

...if we are driving somewhere- Luke will be talking non stop

... if you checked in the boys room- you would see them playing with their trains right now :)

...if you liked reading this- you might want to play along!!!

Sign of the Times...

These days are just different. I guess you would say it is the "new" normal for a lot of different families. There's several different subjects tonight I wanted to touch on.

First, just about everyone we know is having financial problems. In some way shape or form.. people are just tightening up. I'm in sales and see it everyday, it has definitely effected our home, but you just deal with it. We cut back as much as we can and just try our hardest to still have a good time but just not spend as much money. All you can do is your best and if you know you have done your best... then the rest will fall into place. It's funny how it seems that people are starting to talk about it more now, it's like there is a sense that we all know that everyone is having to watch what they spend, so it's just understood. I'm a talker and love to tell anyone and everyone what's on my mind, so I like that about the "understood"... I talk about it now to people that I know are having problems too. It gives us a chance to talk, vent and get ideas that might help our family. I came from a family that you just don't talk about your problems, but I embrace this problem (sure I don't like it) but I believe it is making me a stronger person, Christian and Wife... I'm learning a lot. I encourage you all to just discuss with people that you trust your problems... it will amaze you at how many people might be going through the same thing as you and it sure makes you feel better when you find out your not alone.

Secondly, John and I were watching TV tonight while I was finishing up dinner. It was about 7pm and we were just simply watching our CBS show. Let me tell you how mad this makes me... these were some of the words they were saying on CBS... sex, b*tch, penis, vagina... (these were the ones that I wrote down) We had to change the channel b/c the boys were playing in the living room right in FRONT of the TV. I am just in shock that they allow these people to say those kinds of things on national, primetime hours. It's not like it's past 8 or 9 pm when typically kids are in bed.... oh no, it was 7pm in the evening, right smack dab in the middle of the hectic night that most people with children have.... I was simply appalled and now know that we all can't even watch TV before the kids go to bed.

So, what is the world coming too... I've been scared lately, I should not be scared though. I need to trust in Him and know that he will take care of us all. But when I can't simply watch TV in front of my kids, I can't let my kids play outside by themselves, I can't get my pedicures anymore due to that being what I gave up to save some money and I can't even trust the ice cream man that comes by the house b/c he's just too creepy... I mean seriously, is this the SIGNS OF THE TIMES or what??? To me right now I guess you would say it's the "new" normal!

Baby Stellan....PLEASE PRAY HARD!!!

I have been following MckMama for only a few months now... but right now more than ever they need our prayers! Stellan is not doing well at all and we need everyone to come together and just PRAY. That is all we can do so please just PRAY!!!!!!
Click here to follow his progess!
Love you all, I know it's been way too long since I've blogged but I will get one going here soon! Right now we all just need to please pray for this family, they are going through the most unimaginable time right now! God please give this family peace and comfort!

Friday night we FINALLY had a adult night without the kiddos! Don't get me wrong, I love my angels so much, but it is also nice when we can get out and be with other great friends without them! We went to dinner with Jason and Ashley and then came back to the house to ride the 4wheelers with the boys :) It was so much fun and a much needed night out!

Here's some pics below of our fun night....

This past week...

Last weekend for the 4Th of July, we took the boys to Georgia to visit my family. We only get to go a few times a year, so when we go I am ecstatic and prepared for a long, busy and fun weekend! This year was a very special year to go, on my Dad's side of the family, we celebrate the 4Th of July in a big huge way... Since my Grandmother has passed away, the whole family has not been together in almost 5 years. I thought, since my boys are older, I wanted them to experience the 4Th of July, how I experienced it each year. My Grandmother lives right on a lake in Peachtree City, conveniently right across from where the fireworks are shot off each year. It is a huge party in her backyard each year with people and family members that we haven't seen in forever! This year was so much fun and I hope to make it a family tradition of ours to be there each year!

We also had so much fun visiting my Mom's side of the family while we were there. We had a cookout on Friday night with them and it was so much fun!!!! We love our families so much and feel truly blessed to have such a wonderful family members!!!

Here's some pics below of our weekend :)
