Lately...

Our life has been busy lately... the picture above is Will's last day of school with his Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. H. She was so wonderful to him and I'm so proud of Will. He's such a wonderful kid, I honestly do not think sometimes I deserve him! He's my 1st grader now... gosh I can't believe it!

Here's both boys at the dentist... they both LOVE going to the dentist, Luke would not look at me, he was too busy playing with the instruments. Here's the difference in my boys, Will: would not touch the instruments, just let the correct people deal with them, he was not even curious, Luke: would NOT leave them alone... kept touching them and would NOT sit on his booty. Complete opposites :)

One night recently the boys stayed up late and my poor kids just can not stay up, they will try with everything to stay up past 9pm and they just can't do it... we found Luke down underneath the coffee table last night.... sweet thing!

This is from last week with the boys, I think before Luke's after school program. They had just gotten hair cuts and I wanted to take a few pics before their hair got messed up. Luke got his hair cut in a short mohawk.... Will's is just short for Summer because he gets so darn hot playing football....

I hope y'all are enjoying the Summer!!!! The boys are starting to fight a lot this week and it's only the first week of summer break. Next week we are meeting Mom in Mississippi so she can take them back home with her for a week. They are SO excited, but I promise not as excited as the hubs and I are... I will be packing their suitcase Sunday with a grin on my face :) Honestly, I am excited to be spending this quality time with the hubs, but I also will miss them terribly, it's bitter sweet, but best for us all!!!! :)

Happy Memorial Day weekend!!!!!

instant love...

Jer 1:5 -
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations."

LOGAN O'BRIAN HART

...this child has my heart, he is so precious, sweet and I am in LOVE with being his Aunt. His Mommy is my Sister in Law and we are more sisters. There is not a day that goes by that we do not talk, we tell each other things that only we know and more than anything we love each other more than sisters could love. She is my sister and she became a Mommy today, she now knows the unconditional love that every mother feels. I am beyond proud of the strong, faithful and beyond beautiful person she was today! I had the honor of witnessing this child take his first breath right in front of me, her and I shared tears today that only 2 mother's and sister's could ever experience. I am in AW of the experience she allowed me to share with her and I am just stunned at how well she did!!! (I had two c~sections, therefore this was a completely different experience for me)

For her first baby, she had a picture perfect labor and delivery.... she pushed her heart out (only 5 pushes) and in return gave us all something in life! This little life that has so many people that love him already! I am amazed and so blessed to have this memory.

We went back tonight to check on him, he is even cuter now than he was earlier. He is so beautiful and he will always have a special place in Aunt Katie's heart! :) I will post pictures when she says it is ok to post some of him, the most special thing to me was looking at him taking his first breath and seeing each one of my boys in him... WOW talk about a surreal moment!

He is 7 lbs 12 oz, 20 inches long of perfectness!

Quick Question..

Do I or do I not bribe my kids by saying this "If you eat all of your healthy nutricious dinner, you will get 1 oreo"

They typically will eat everything on their plate and I don't mind giving them a oreo for that... is that wrong of me and do you know if that causes harm to them in the future?

Just checking :) Give me your feedback!

Our Drama

So Tuesday night I gratefully went to Mom's Nite out with my church ladies. We do this once a month at a girls house next to church and it is SO much fun!!!! I could not be blessed with a better group of church girls and women!

When I got home from that, the hubs had fed the boys and bathed them, so they were ready for bed (I was so excited and proud of him, normally they just hang out and he doesn't do baths, he's been helping so much lately, I just don't know what to do with myself!) Any who, he mentioned when he was giving Luke a bath he thought he might have a low grade temp. The boys were already in bed when he told me so I said we will see in the middle of the night or morning if he's sick. Sure enough, early that morning he comes in our room running a HIGH fever and saying his throat is killing him. So I stay home with him Wednesday, treat him with the fever and he will not eat or drink anything! Wednesday night was the worst night with a sick kid I have EVER had, in the 6.5 years I've been a Mom. Remember my kids have slept through the night since they were born and even when my kids are sick, they LOVE their sleep like their Momma! But Wednesday night and Thursday morning was a different story. Luke was having breathing problems, could not swallow anything and was just moaning all night, I was crying all night and praying for God to just get us through until morning when I could get him to the doctor. So off to the doctor we went. He has croup and a infection in his throat (I forgot what they called it, not strep what they had thought though). The biggest concern was his breathing and dehydration, so they gave him a shot of meds and sent us to the local Children's Hospital. Thankfully they did not keep us all night and once the medicine started kicking in he finally could eat and drink. It was scary for a while but I am so thankful for everyone who made this a whole lot better!!!!!!

We are home today, Daddy is home with Luke and I'm headed to work! I pray y'all have a wonderful weekend!

Mommy of the Year Award Right here...

or not...
(I have no idea why this one part is underlined, I tried getting rid of it but can't..ha)

Yesterday on Mother's Day I have a marvelous day! We went to church, then headed to eat some mexican. While we were there Will's 2nd tooth came out :) We have been waiting for days while it was hanging on by a thread and finally it came out, we all were so excited! So I wrapped it up, stuck it in my purse and on with the day we went.

Here's Will right after his tooth came out

Below is his tooth... it was a tiny one!

Last night when he went to bed, we put the tooth in a baggie then under his pillow. Well that was all I remembered because this morning when he woke up, he was so disappointed and said "Mom can you believe the tooth fairy did not come last night" I looked at the hubs and he had this "oh crap" look on his face, we both COMPLETELY forgot about doing the tooth fairy thing last night. So I quickly replied "It's mother's day and I'm sure the tooth fairy took off tonight, so tomorrow night she will definitely be here" Oh ok Mom.... I felt SO bad, but he understood, everyone needs to be with their Momma on Mother's Day, even the tooth fairy :)

Saturday night I went to a Ladies Dinner with the women of our church... it was a blast and these were the beautiful flowers from our table... this year was a hawaiian theme!

I hope y'all had a blessed weekend! I'm looking forward to a warm week this week and another great weekend ahead!

Anonymous...

I got my first experience recently of a anonymous commentor... well let's just say if you don't have the "guts" to say who you are commenting, then you probably should not be blogging or commenting for that matter.

Back when I blogged about what MY family does when it comes to saving money, I stated that I remember at one point, the hubs said he wanted bacon for breakfast, I simply stated to him it was not necessary for us to go get it so we didn't. I was giving a simple example of how we BOTH have been penny pinching.

Well this person must of got offended, stating I need to be "submissive to my husband as that is what the Lord would want and it would cause resentment later", yes I do agree, but in this example I do not agree. The point of the story had nothing to do with me being or not being a certain way with my husband, (it was never even a disagreement between the hubs and I) if he wanted the bacon bad enough, believe me he would of gotten it, it was the fact that at that moment it was not important, we both have examples of how we have tried to HELP our situation with EACH OTHER by reminding what we are trying to do (ahem... better our family), would buying a $4 pack of bacon be smart when we NEVER eat it, no sir it would not!!!! Would it have hurt for us to get it, sure probably not, but the fact is we need to start thinking smart and the little things add up!!! Examples people, is it that hard to understand??

Sorry Mr. or Mrs. Anonymous, I will never agree with your comment and next time, let's just keep some things to ourselves.. K? thanks! Thanks for a great laugh though, the hubs and I thought it's funny!!!!

Show Us Your Life- Baby Names

I typically do not participate in Kelly's Korner's "Show us your life" but lately she is coming up with some topics that I just can not resist!
Today is about baby names, you all know we have two boys already and then I will let y'all know if we have more, what their names will be, if the hubs approves! :)
John William "Will"
John is obviously after his Daddy (my hubby's) middle name. My hubby's name is Cary Jonathan, the hubs hates Cary (or did not want to name our boys that) so we did John for short.
His middle name is my Daddy's first name and we call him Will for short. His name could not fit more perfectly for him! He is definitely a Will!
Steven Luke "Luke"
Steven is after my father in law's first name (the hubs father) and Luke is a biblical name that means a lot to us both. When we heard it for a boys name, we looked at each other and immediately said this is it. So that is how we got Luke's name :)
Now if we are so blessed to have another child, if it is a boy more than likely, we will name him Cary James and call him James. He will have his Daddy's initials and his Daddy's first name, but we will call him James because it is biblical and it's my mothers father's first name. I never met him because he passed away when my mother was young, but I would love to honor that name! What I do know about him is that he was a wonderful man that loved his family!!! (the hubs has no idea about this name, so it would of course have to be approved by him first!)
Now if God would be so kind and send me a baby girl... oh how I would LOVE that!!!!!! hehehe.
Our little girl, if we got preggo right now, I would have to say I would name her... Madison Kathleen or Madison Kate and call her either way "Maddie Kate" Madison was my Grandfather's middle name, when he passed away I was pregnant with Will and as you all know we thought Will was a girl, his name was Abigail Madison, so I promised I would name my baby girl Madison and I'm sticking to it. Kate is a name that both the hubs and I both LOVE! It is similar to my name, so I'm not sure if that's weird or not, but we just LOVE that name! I think I like Madison Kate and call her either Maddie Kate or just Kate... what do y'all think???
So there ya have it.... those are our baby names!!!! I hope you enjoyed stopping by!
all have a blessed weekend and Mother's Day, if you get a chance read my post below for my little angels.
Happy Mother's Day!!!

My Day...

my heart, my love, my blessings, my happiness, my answered prayers, my LIFE are these two boys!

I'm not sure if I will get to post again before Mother's Day, but yes, Sunday is a day for me to celebrate the amazing blessings God has allowed me to care for. He has entrusted me with these two beings that love me unconditionally and that are learning from us all each day!

From the time I found out about these miracles, I have been nothing but thrilled for them to allow me to be their Mommy. Everything I do, I honestly do for them. After you have children of your own, you become something you never dreamed could happen. It is no longer about you it is all about these two beings that trust, love, respect, look up too and pray with me. You grow up and you are no longer concerned with yourself (or for me this is just how it has been). Being a Mom is not just having children, it is a whole job of it's own, it takes a lot to keep it all together and everything to run smoothly!

Ask anyone who has known me since childhood, I have always wanted children. I could not be blessed with two more perfect beautiful children!!!

I love you Will and Luke, Mommy's heart is full of your love! I praise God for you and pray for you daily! My life is you both and I also pray God will bless me one day with another sibling for you both, in God's time that will come! I could not be more proud of y'all and I get on my knees and ask God to have his protecting hand on you both as you grow up to be handsome, smart young men! You both love the Lord so much and if that is all the good I teach you, then I will still be such a proud Mommy! Stay strong and always stay true to yourself. God made you exactly how He wants you, don't ever let someone tell you differently!

I love you both more than you could ever imagine! It tickles my heart to even think about it!

Happy Mother's Day all you Mommy's or Mommy's to be!!!!

Monday Madness...

Well this weekend here in the Mid South was tornadic, scary, monsoon weather! We all are safe close to the Memphis area, but if you get more towards the middle of the state, it's bad! Please pray for all of the families that have lost loved ones or things.... it is a horrific situation and the water seems to be rising (which to me is crazy) but it is... oh Lord please protect the people in harm!!!!

I thought I would post a few pictures from when Momma was in town last week. She came for a visit and we ALL thoroughly enjoyed every single second. There's something about Momma being here that makes me want to get a kids book and just curl up in her lap like I'm a little girl again, I can't do that but I do enjoy seeing my boys do that with their "DeeDee" I have tons more pics, but I might have to post those another night, I'm exhausted and need to hit the bed to catch up on the sleep I missed this weekend from the storms :(

(my monkies being silly as always)

(Momma and Luke)

Y'all have a terrific Tuesday!

Love y'all and stay safe!
