Anonymous...

I got my first experience recently of a anonymous commentor... well let's just say if you don't have the "guts" to say who you are commenting, then you probably should not be blogging or commenting for that matter.

Back when I blogged about what MY family does when it comes to saving money, I stated that I remember at one point, the hubs said he wanted bacon for breakfast, I simply stated to him it was not necessary for us to go get it so we didn't. I was giving a simple example of how we BOTH have been penny pinching.

Well this person must of got offended, stating I need to be "submissive to my husband as that is what the Lord would want and it would cause resentment later", yes I do agree, but in this example I do not agree. The point of the story had nothing to do with me being or not being a certain way with my husband, (it was never even a disagreement between the hubs and I) if he wanted the bacon bad enough, believe me he would of gotten it, it was the fact that at that moment it was not important, we both have examples of how we have tried to HELP our situation with EACH OTHER by reminding what we are trying to do (ahem... better our family), would buying a $4 pack of bacon be smart when we NEVER eat it, no sir it would not!!!! Would it have hurt for us to get it, sure probably not, but the fact is we need to start thinking smart and the little things add up!!! Examples people, is it that hard to understand??

Sorry Mr. or Mrs. Anonymous, I will never agree with your comment and next time, let's just keep some things to ourselves.. K? thanks! Thanks for a great laugh though, the hubs and I thought it's funny!!!!

Oh snap! Go Katie!
I agree that being submissive to your husband is in many ways in God's plan. However, I also feel that God in his infinate wisdom put us in our husbands lives to help balance them out (and vice versa). If I never questioned every whim or suggestion Chris made, we would not be able to save money. He has so many wonderful traits but being thrifty is not one of them. Chris and I have had "the bacon" conversation many times before and, like John, he sometimes needs to be reminded that what we want (big or small) is not always what we need.

That's hilarious. I don't think that is what God is meaning about being submissive to your husband. How crazy someone would leave you a comment like that.
